Rough start for R2. Couldn't get on the right levels on these tiered greens. Bounced back on the back nine.

I'm ok with the format but unfortunately given I do some FIFO mine site work (usually 8 days away at a time), the deadlines fell the wrong way and I just missed 2 tourneys. Looked like 2 excellent courses as well. Ce la vie.

I don't feel much motivation to continue with USE unfortunately. I don't really understand why follow cam is now allowed, you can hit an approach shot knowing it is going to roll past the pin and you get a lovely read for the putt back. This surely goes against the whole ethos of playing 'Sim' golf. I think this is starting to show in the scores we are starting to see. I, personally don't use it for this reason, I like the challenge of how it was before. It is what it is, I may play from time to time, if I like the course on any chosen week. Shame really.

I have brought up the problem with the disappearing ball so many times Simon. I play the game in 4K on a 42 inch monitor 3 foot from the screen and my vision is very good and could play a turned based 3 ball and the ball all but disappears at it's apex for 30 percent of the shots. I find it frustrating and far from immersive and not fun at all. I will also say that follow cam rollout hardly gives you perfect reads. Most of us have been playing no grids for a long time now, I am hardly looking for a rollout break as I read the actual putt from the putting cameras anyway. Maybe newbies to non grid putting will benefit but if you are a good putter you see those breaks from the putting camera, you trust your guestimates with your own reads. You are welcome to do what you like and it is hard to please everyone. But to me this society is not about strict rules but about being a society first and maybe we would be sticking to no follow cam if it wasn't so friggin bugged. To be honest my scores are not great but I am enjoying this society more than I ever have before. I have played quite a few of our members in private matches and am having a blast. The game certainly feels better to me now than it did a few months ago, yes we have more numbers than season 1 but there are many more factors than numbers.

It doesn't give you perfect reads no, but you get a good idea of the general break of the putt. When not using it, many times, especially with more subtle breaking putts you have to really scout the green using the putting camera to get any idea of what way it will break. The follow cam totally takes this away. As I said before, we are seeing this with the scores being posted. If that is the way you want to go, fine, but it isn't what the name of this Society stands for in my opinion.

I have been part of this society from the start kept it going when it's creator left. I actually got to the point of having enough when we had the same disappearing ball bug that 2K21 had and I mean that was it, I just got to the point of hating it when I should be enjoying it. Everyone is welcome to turn off follow cam if they can handle it's flaws but I actually enjoy follow cams now and enjoy this game so much more without being so frustrated that my ball disappears into oblivion at it's apex.

@wade if you're out there! I challenge you to some match play if you've got time today or tomorrow! 😁 edit: or not lol. that's ok too! Been wanting to play a match with you like back in TGC19 Hey Will! I just saw this post. I haven't been on the forum for a while. I have been waiting to play a match against you as well. Since we were both on Xbox. Except now I have lost interest in playing. hammers1man asked me to play quite a while back as well. I've just been playing career mode on Pro lol. I did find time to publish a fictional course. But that is about it. Waiting on the EA game to see how that is. Maybe I will find a second wind down the road. I haven't been happy with the random fittings and the laggy servers. I thought I had it figured out when I shot -35 back in season one. But I haven't come even remotely close since.

Santa Cruz InvitationalPakaLoLo wins in Santa Cruz by 2 strokes from BigJawJugrNaut2 with MRLONGPOLEx in 3rd Low round is PaKaLoLo's excellent 58 in round 1, one of the best ever rounds on USE on a very tricky course.
