Hey gents, I published a beta version of a course I'm working on, called meyobeta1. If anyone has some spare time to give it a go and write some feedback negative and positive it would be much appreciated. The greens are set at 164 and a few run from front to back so maybe play with grids on to get a feel for them. Thanks in advance... Cheers

I really loved the course, especially the layout. It was obvious you put a lot of work into it. This is just my opinion and I'm not a great course desinger. So you publish the course the way you want. Your course came across to me as a really upscale country club. For this reason I would change the tee markers to someting a little more exotic/classy. I would swap the color of the dark greens and fairways with the heavy rough color. The colors made the course seem a little unrealistic. Dark greens would be tough to read the breaks with low lighting, dawn, dusk etc. I didn't have a problem with the 164 green speed. The greens were pretty flat though. If you sculpted your greens with some undulations. Then set the GS to 144. I think it would up the level of your course. You know how players don't like those fast green speeds lol. I did publish a couple of my courses at 160 default green speed. I wish I would have done them at 144. I feel like 155 is plenty fast enough. Plus you always have the Very Fast option. Hopefully some others will play the course and chime in. I really enjoyed it! Looking forward to the published version. If you haven't seen his videos. CrazyCanuck1985 has some great course design tutorials. That's how I learned to do my courses. B101 is great as well. You can get some great advice and tips from both of their videos.

Thanks for the feedback Wade, I'll fiddle around with the greens. Unless some designer in this group would like to co-lab on this, I'll gladly send you the file.

It will probably be hard to find someone to co-lab with on USE. Most of us on here that did some courses are burnt out lol. You might find someone on TGC Tours in the course section. I have one course left to port over. It was Kinloch GC (L) in 2K21. The object meter was high to port it to 2K23. I deleted all the objects and it is still over the limit. I will have to start from scratch and do the entire lidar plot over. Just can't bring myself to do it lol. It's a lot of work designing courses. The reward is nice when you finish though. Here is another video that should help you sculpt greens. The trick is to not get too excessive with the slopes. I wouldn't go more than a foot. Im most cases doing undulations around 6 to 8 inches will work fine. You also want to test your pins on Very Fast to make sure they are not illegal for play. In 2k19 there was a rule to keep the grids on all nine boxes around the hole/pin green or yellow.
