paddyjk19 , It may be too early to tell. But have you seen what the default green speed should be when publishing a course in 2k23? 2K21 was usually 7.5 = 163 med. fast. Since the green speeds appear faster in 2k23 is 155 the norm now? Then there's the issue of the friction balls. If you set the green speed to slow, the friciton balls will destroy a course. If you set the green speed to max speed then players without the friction balls will get destroyed on an unplayable course. Then what happens in a month or so if 2k decides to remove the balls from the game, but you have already published your courses. This can really be a fiasco. I think I will just publish my courses with the default golf ball.

I haven’t noticed many issues with the designer as I use a game pad and it works really nicely!
There’s a few annoying things like the area select thing sometimes selects too much stuff but it’s quite easy to just unselect it.
It’s definitely not as bad as folks are making out

Have published 3 non lidar courses. When the game prices drop some I will buy the PC game and port my 3 Lidar courses to 2k23. I'm not sure what 2k did but the fairway rough looks hideous in some places.
Published Mauna Kea GC - Hawaii El Camaleon GC - Mexico with 2021 PGA hole locations Port Royal GC - Bermuda with 2021 PGA hole locations
Coming in the near future Newport News GC Golden Horseshoe GC Kinloch GC

paddyjk19 , I finally deleted enough objects and object splines to get Newport News GC and Golden Horseshoe GC down to about 80% object meter. Now I have to manually plant everything. On Kinloch the object meter was at 160% when I imported it. I have deleted tons of stuff and it is now at 120%. The strange thing is that the file and memory meters are at only 80%. This makes me think there is a glitch in the designer. I believe the initial Lidar plot must have been too high (not too high for 2k21 though). I'm not sure if there is a way to reduce the plot size (object meter) outside the actual course. Not really feeling like starting all over from the beginning. Too much work.

Same here Wade. Harding Park was at 147% when I loaded it up in the designer for 2k23. I deleted all the cars, golf carts, splines and a lot of other objects just to get it to 99%. The greens needed to be toned down and a few adjustments with some trees blocking sightlines. I did really like how you can make fence splines in one swoop. Reading on TGCTours, for those that had the object meter that high. They had planned to either not port or redo all the planting. It's pretty much what Paddy has said about designing well done courses. It's a labour of love. But that can seriously be a pain too! For me, I'll eventually get to porting it over. Busy with a lot of other things at the moment. I thought the trees could've been a bit taller for Harding too. Once that designing bug comes back, should be able to power thru it. Hope you take the time to look at the other Lidar courses that you've done and port them over Wade. No rush
