Master Tour Series 2 Week 1: The Hartford Open

Erin Hills is a course like none other — routed over the kettle moraine areas left by glaciers, surrounded by wetlands and a river, with ground that consists of glacial till of varied composition of sand and small rock. In an unconventional decision for a course in Wisconsin, the architects routed the fairways around contours of the property and provide a firm playing surface that plays shorter than its length on the scorecard.

The course was designed to accommodate the 2017 U.S. Open, in terms of both the challenge to the players and the logistics of the spectators. This mix of traditional and modern elements as well as a championship test will leave many golfers with the feeling that they’ve never played anywhere like Erin Hills.

I played the tourney today. I eliminated a society that was basically too repetitive. I need something more unique and USE is it. I noticed this tourney was just 2 rounds. Is that the new format for tourneys? I’m good either way. Plus, the courses on here are fabulous.

Hi Zooby, good to see you back and you are right USE is unique and a good sim experience I think.
Yes Master Tour is now 2 rounds like Linksland, 2 separate 2 round societies set over 10 week series with a major each series. You are very welcome to join both.

Round 2 at the fantastic Erin Hills, decided to slow it down a bit and tee off with my mate charles56. Really enjoying just taking it slowly again, 2 rounds is so more manageable for me and I like the variety of different courses with linksland and MT we have.
Charles' back 9 was just awesome USE golf and he had a great tournament this week to finish under par on a difficult course. What I love is the different scrambling games we have where I tend to hit high chip/pitch LW shots, Charles loves a bump and run and I have to say that part of his game is top drawer.
Good to see skunky back on PC this week also

Thx for tagging me again Paul. Always fun to watch back. Loved this course and set up was again spot on. Had a good go at it and very happy with my closing nine in the second round. That birdie run got me going as i had troubles on the front with a cold putter. Yes, my chippin' is a life saver in my game most of the time. For me, the most difficult shot is the 3/4 pitch and flop as its kinda tricky with the mouse. Practice is the key for me and playing the USE-Master & To The Links Land societies is a great way to check my game on this challenging level.

My good fried Quade (skunky) is back in the fold as i kept edging him on to join the play again. We play a lot of live multy player together. As i do with Roger, another good friend here in Holland. Anyway, great set up, great courses and great format.

Linksland starts Fridays and Master Tour Sundays. Both tournaments are up for this week.

Eddie wins week 1 with a commanding show, Charles and colly tie for 2nd. Low round 68 from this weeks winner.
