Holy **** What a gem of a course. Would love to have a crack at this IRL but would probably need a couple of dozen balls.
Didn't have a practice round and thought after 8 holes in Rd1 it wasn't necessary....-7 after 8 with 4 chip ins and only 5 putts. Subsequently put my drive in the water on the short 9th for a bogey. -6 after 9 and still going ok.
27 holes later, I was -8. What the course giveth, the course taketh away. Crappy tempo doesn't help and I struggled. Not the type of course to mess up, both off the tee and on approach. Greens were really tricky to read unless you stalk it from half a dozen different angles and plenty of swales to negotiate. Doesn't suit my "15 minutes per round" style. Had a few chips and putts break wildly away from the hole and some short putts squirreled off line.
Anyway, left it for a couple of nights and came back last night to finish off....-9 in Rd3 and I think bogey free. A couple of great putts dropped on the back 9 including a 51 foot big breaker.
-6 in Rd4 and was up and down like Rd1.
-23 total....tempo was hit and miss throughout. Really testing USE course but fun all the same. Cheers and I hope we see this baby next season.

Great to see the return of Wade to the Master Tour this week.Couldn’t quite reel him in after my poor start to the week.

Rounds 1 and 2, played too fast and swing was poor. Really like Anders' Lofoten Links and play it a lot when this game first came out out never can get a round going here.

What I love about this course is you can't overpower it as a long hitter, requires a bit of strategy. My medium putts were poor but my long putting was very good this round. Some good partial pitch up and downs. Fighting the course this week and just can't get going, loving every minute of it though. My Aussie playing partner Tuffguts just gave a lesson in great USE golf, sublime  |

Master Tour Week 21 : Lofoten Open result Tuffgut wins by 6 strokes on 23 under, a great performance from horuspheonix gives him 2nd place 2 strokes ahead of Topflight in 3rd Low round is a great 62 from the champion in round 3.   |
