Should we look at not banning this from certain lies. It has been tweaked to have an element of risk now. Personally it would be for a bunker shot for me or extreme circumstances where I need height to the shot. Maybe we could test it out, if pitch is the easier shot maybe we don't have to have splash from bunkers only. Thoughts everyone?

I’m up for trialling it but it’s so penal now and I’ve got so adapted to pitching I doubt I’ll use it often

Maybe I have just nailed the tempo as it doesn't feel drastically different to me. Funnily enough it is chipping where my tempo is bad, I fluffed one for the 1st time just recently.

I will have to try it out before I have an opinion. And shiver just by thought of splashing outside a bunker.

My gut feeling is no - but I will try it out in the game before I make my vote.

I tried to splash some on the training grounds. Holed the first from the rough, haha. That was of course luck, but it didn’t take me long to hit them close from different places. It think the crucial difference is that you can hit full swings much more often than with a pitch shot. Going to vote No for now.

I agree with the full swing and then cycling through clubs for different distances. Changed mine to no. I actually don't find the shot that much of a difference apart from less spin. Would like to see less distance accuracy from heavy rough.

I tested it out, and it is still way too easy. I can see that it is less spin, but it is still way too easy compared to how hard this is in real golf.

I'm not going to vote, as I don't play actively here anymore. Only active people should vote on something that affects them, I think!
But, IF I were playing, I would vote no. I used the splash shot a LOT out of bunkers for a long time, because I didn't see a difference other than distance control because it was easy. (if you remember, I don't play golf in real life, haven't played in 30+ years and even then it was only casual, didn't get into understanding much other than hit the ball/try to get it to the hole)
After it was explained to me what this shot was for, and how it differed, I'm in full agreement with you guys. For realistic play, in this league, it should stay in the bunker or right beside one when the green is about 5 ft higher than you.
