Second Round in. That front nine with the breeze off the Pacific and into the players face was tough. Managed to put myself in good positions and a few birdies dropped. That partial pitch is a tough one to negotiate now, at least for me. But...I will continue to keep hitting it to those distances as I'm hoping the practice will pay off to get those right. Unfortunately on the 3rd was the lone bogey of the round came from leaving a pitch shot short . Made the turn and it was just a simple grind it out for pars. Almost made a mess of the par 5 14th. But made the slider putt for par. Got to the 18th tee. Caddie turns to me and says, so you gonna pure that driver today or what? Simple nod back and hit my best drive of the day right down the center. Perfect hybrid approach left myself a downhill left to right putt. Just enough speed and curled in for eagle. Sigh of relief when I finally signed that card to end the round. On to the next...

Round 3 and paired with charles56 . I'll let him describe his round himself. I just didn't have the feel for the greens or a in my swing. Got around on course management short game mostly. That was enough for a 72.

That was enough for a 72. Well, you had a front row seat to my demolition Mike! I just gave up really. I have lost my game at the moment so i just fooled around a bit and practiced while playing. Trying different things out etc. No sense fighting it when its gone. So i'm just going through the motions right now. Dont know how long its going to take to put the pieces back together -if i ever manage- so right now, i'm just freewheelin' my way through rounds trying to be as inconspicuous a possible!

Final round and going out with skunky . This was a round of sudden extremes. Hitting a 3W up the hill on the 6th for a 2 foot eagle putt. Then getting stuck with my hand on the downswing at the 12th resulting in a massive slice. Since there is no free drop for grandstands here, that cost me a triple. Taking a quick GT with leader colly in the clubhouse before getting down to San Diego shouting obscenities at Machado before the US Open. Nice...

I understand. It will come back, no doubt about that. Gradually or with a bang.

My card for Round 3. Pretty happy with that effort in the conditions. Makes up for the shenanigans I had on the 14th in Round 2 where I had a 'Snowman' and ruined another solid effort in these breezy conditions.

Third Round in last night. Felt really in control of my game on that front nine. Made the shots and putts I needed to. Then the 11th happened. Middle of the fairway and another partial PW into the breeze. Got too delicate with it and left it short into the bunker. Chunked the sand shot, a chip, along with two putts and bam a double. This new swing will catch you out in a hurry if you're not focused on each shot at hand. Two birdies and a bogey until the 18th. Never knew that my snap hook could follow me from real life golf to in game. But that is another mental mistake that just can't happen. Mistake is to be in those bunkers right than into the Pacific. Let's just say the Fujikura driver shaft was found in two after that tee shot . Squandered a good start of the round and stumbled into the clubhouse. Got to be better with those decisions. -8 heading into the Final Round.

Final Round in. WHEW! A bogey on the 1st hole to start wasn't the best feeling to get the mojo going. Especially while watching the PC Leaderboard. But bounced back with a perfect shot on the driveable par 4 4th with that wind. But gave it right back on the 7th. Knowing that colly was in the Clubhouse with his score. Made that back nine a lot more intense! Especially with that bogey on the 13th. It was an absolute grindfest all the way in. A lot of nerve wracking par saves/putts. Barely got myself down the 18th fairway and played the cautious/safety valve of a birdie putt on the last . There are still players to get in their rounds and finish. But wow, that was a tough test of golf at Pebble Beach this week! Well done andersnm! 👏👏👏⛳

Round 2: I started really well on the front nine with -1. I holed a nice bunker shot for birdie and had a birdie chip-in. I had some good driving there. Sadly at the back 9 I could not keep my driving straight, which on this course with this wind is deadly, so +5 on the back 9 for a total of +4 for the round. I am +3 for the tournament now.

Third round was scrambling round for me, though left three medium putts I should have made for birdies.

Round 3: I am overall satisfied with my round. Driving and putting were both ok. But the 14th was a card breaker for me. I 5 putted there for a triple bogey. I finished the round in +1 and I am +4 for the tournament now.

Fourth round, and again I left too many putts on the edge of the hole. But, pretty solid week for me as I've had so many weeks absence. Forgot to capture the 5th tee shot - deserved to be in the highlight thread.
