Back down the East coast of Scotland this week to one of the oldest clubs in the world.I’m lucky enough to have played here on several occasions.Wonderful area for a golfing holiday.Enjoy your rounds 🏌️😎

Well, that was a remarkable round. When I reached the 15th hole I was even par, but I should have been -5 or so. My putter was ice cold. Only at the 6th I holed a long putt for birdie. But that was the only good thing my putter did today. At the 15th par 3 I missed the green with my tee-shot. Then I hit a bad pitch shot, a bad flop shot and a bad chip shot. So those shots all need some extra work. I made a 7 on that hole. At the 16th I made a double bogey due to bad chip shots. At the 18th driveable par 4 I ended a few feet from the hole and made an easy eagle putt. So, in short. My long game was excellent, my short game was a disaster. Result, +4.  |

Round 1 on this lovely course. It gets better every time I play here. Paired up with roggro and we were 2 struggling players. I struggled from tee to green and he on the greens, as he described above.  |

Front 9 was a real battle against the stiff breeze.Then I turned for home & once I got some wedges in my hands for my approach shots I began to take advantage & knock a few in close 😀 Happy with round 1 👍🍻🍻🏌️

Round 2 was a complete contrast to round 1.Back 9 was a total blow up again 🤯 😂😂😂🍻🍻🍻

Front nine was not too bad, but at the back nine I had some bad holes. A couple of times ended up about 25-30 yards from the hole on holes with raised greens. I simply do not have a good shot for that. I hit my pitch shots either too soft or too hard on shots like these. Of course best too avoid ending up there, but my approach shots were a bit off today.  |

Final round and roggro teed up just ahead of me. We headed in different directions on the leaderboard as all my game worked fine today. The best part was the short game. Holed a chip from 10 yards and holed a LW pitch from 10 yards. The only bogie was a missed green and a very good pitch to 6 feet, but missed the putt. The 18th fooled me. It looks the St Andrews and I hit a full drive and then remember I took yards off in the 1st round. Waiting for the OB sign, but there was plenty of room. Hit a full GW pitch back to 2 feet and made a birdie. Funny old game, eh?  |

Decent ball striking for Linksland R1 at North Berwick. Couldn't get the putter going throughout the round. Good speed just wasn't able to get them on the right line. Only blemish on the card was the bogey on 6th which came from a misjudged pitch shot. Highlights of the round was this 33 footer on the 2nd. Along with a solid partial driver on the last, left this putt for eagle to tie colly for the First Round lead.  |

Double trouble to start the round. Did my best to keep it together on the front side. Bounced back well on the back. Almost made a 30 footer up Ben Nevis (thanks Google  ) on the par 3 15th. It looked good from the valley below. Needed a boost from the caddie to tap it in. Perfectly judged partial pitch on the last was a nice way to finish the round. Finished at -5 for the Linksland this week. Off to Pebble...  |
