We head back down the East coast of Scotland into the Kingdom of Fife.I have happy memories of playing Elie as a youngster on family holidays.Certainly not a long course but always challenging in the stiff sea breezes π.Enjoy ποΈ

Wow, what a test of a golfer's skills! Whoever survives as the winner truly is a champion golfer! The course, pin placements, and playing conditions make this a real test. R1 I had everything working and it showed with a -7. I caught the birdie train on #7 and it took me around the bend to #11! Second round was a ball breaker. I was just trying to keep my head above water with 3 double bogeys during the round. I shot +4 for the round and finished at -3 for the tournament. Good Luck to all that choose to test their skills π I really needed this 28 ft. sweeping right to left birdie putt on the par 4 16th.

Round 1 and equipped myself with a 9 degree bomber today, expecting high winds. The course is short, but winds and greens can protect a lot. Was keeping up with @sirwade through 11 holes and thought, "Now I have him". Well, I didn't. Holed good putts for a while, but then missed a couple of short for par on the back 9. On the 13th hole, I setup for a drive only to discover I hit a 3W. It turned out it was the caddie that carried the bag for roggro earlier.

A challenging and fun course this week. Only 6200 yards but with these winds and greens certainly not a pushover. The first round I started well with -2 at the front nine. After that my game fell apart a bit with hitting many wayward shots. I ended +2 for the round. The second round was played in very high winds. I made my eagle putt at 7 and had birdie chip-ins at 12 and 14. But I also double bogeyed the 9th and 18th. At the last hole I was on the fairway and had 44 yards left after my first shot. Then I hit a bad pitch, a bad chip and 3 putted from 6 feet for the double bogey. +2 for the round. A nice course with challenging conditions. Not too dissatisfied with my tournament score of +4.

Got to be precise with your approach shots with these tricky pins π

You are correct about approach shots and pins! I forgot what hole, maybe #6, you tee off right at someone's front door. I thought that was unique.

Hit my shots in the wrong(ish) spots and was lucky to get away with par on some holes. Still able to get close to the R1 scores of Wade and Mike. But a brain fart on a tough pin on the 17th got me. Hit the pitch shot to the right level to try and save par. But my putt went down the hill A couple of shots later and a double. Always enjoy the mix of Linksland courses we get each week. Lots of ways to play this course. This one has been quite unique in its own way πβ³

Round 2 and I was getting "annoyed" at my putting when 1 of my kids came and asked me something. I was easily convinced to abort my round to continue later. The reason I was annoyed, I got stuck in what we in Sweden call "vinkelvolten" (for me, putting up the hill, putting down the hill forever). An educational video is supplied further down. Other than that, I am actually happy with my game. These greens on 163 is like Augusta's for me. The course can really protect itself and I will try to conquer it in these winds some other time. Had to fight off roggro , but nothing to do about in form @pakalolo77 . To get caught in "vinkelvolten" is to do the same thing over and over again and get stuck.

Played my Second Round the other day. This course and conditions for R2 had to be the most Links style gameplay (if that makes sense) we've played so far in my opinion. The green were tough and challenging for both rounds. Really didn't know how the ball was going to react off the contours of the course. Then to top it off with those winds. Par was a great score on each hole. I'll take some shelter now and warm up with some Jameson β³π₯π

Round 1 with Mike who played some lovely golf, I was missing a ton of makeable birdie putts and started to get too aggressive which ended in a poor finish to the round, just a bit of frustration really. I have been playing with the longer irons for a few tournament now, as I hit a good tempo with approach shots those extra yards especially from heavy rough really help. Round 2 and actually beat Mike which doesn't happen very often, hole 6 a 4 putt for me and 6 putt for Mike. That pin is definitely illegal but apart from that a nice course with tough greens and a wee breeze set up from Mark gave it some bite as it's pretty short, really enjoyed it. Funny this game it used to be the flat stick that would get me out of trouble, just need to get that putting tempo back as the rest of my game is pretty good. Looking forward to playing Wade's course tomorrow, do I get a couple of shots as the game is now tougher with the red fast yardage loss for my mishits
