Rd 2 i played in a flight with Quade (skunky) and Will (Pakalolo77). Planning to play in flights of 3 first two rounds and flights of 2 in the last two rounds. Just for tournament realism. Quade played very good and putted great. Will demonstrated why he's a top player with great golf. Was very enjoyable playing this way. I hung on for dear life in these punishing winds and am very pleased with end result really. Was able to sink two birdie putts at the end which felt really good. I am pooped LOL!

Round 1 on this beautiful course that gets better each time I play it. Paired up with charles56 and two different strategies up against each other. Or at least I feel I am the percentage player, trying to stay out of trouble and patiently waits for putts to drop. And Charles is more of an attacking player. At the 1st tee I took a long look at the pros and cons of hitting a driver. With a very little margin of error and the "win" was half a pitch, I hit a 3W and 5 iron and settled for par instead. And Charles hit a driver and got wet. Another day, I walk away with a bogie and Charles with a birdie. Anyway, Charles putted very well and I can't remember a 3 putt although he left himself longer par putts than I would like. But the chip with a 5 iron to 6 feet on the par 5 17th was the gem I will remember. I stayed most of the time in the fairways and on the greens, or just outside. A few putts dropped and with a clean card, I am very satisfied with my round. Good to be a stroke ahead of my friend Mickey Mouse too. Well!.. It might seem that way Mike, but i'm usually pretty conservative on the agression scale! I made a big boob on the first drive and i still am wondering why i did that LOL! Maybe i was just a bit too agressive there. Anyway, this course does seem to pull you towards the driver lots of times, and with the wind blowing a/o helping its a bit of bait i guess: . Yes, that bump 'n run chip on 17 was a bit of a long shot but i was glad to walk off with a par there!

Steady opening round.Only mistake was hitting driver at the short par 4 10th leaving myself in the heavy rough short right & then hitting 2 poor pitches. Also missed a couple of short birdie putts but they both had a lot of break so Ill let myself off π Another fine RCR @sirwade πποΈ.Look forward to the rest of the week π

Third Round in. With these brisk Bermuda winds took more of a methodical approach. Took my time and thought every shot out especially on the greens. We won't mention the s word shot on the 2nd hole The 35% FIR really made it tougher to play approach shots and make them stick on the tucked pins. Just need to hit more fairways especially in general, more so on the par 5's here. Still in those conditions I'll take it. I've counted my strokes and have myself down for -10 after R3. But in game it has me down for -11 just an FYI. Thought that was weird.

Third round in. Played with Mike/wimi_gbg. Very interesting and enjoyable. Good/steady playing Mike. You left a couple out there which must have bugged you i'm sure! I felt really good today but could not really get going. Mixed bag with good & bad. Rich & poor too. 2 fat eagles on 7 and 17 kept the blood pumping. Especially 17 was joy. A strong headwind and the water on the left keeps you thinking but i went for it and lofted my 3-wood and slam-bammed it down the line 6ft from the hole and made the putt. I had 7 birdie chances of which i made two and the two eagles so i cant be nagging really. 6 bogies too, most of them avoidable i must say. Still, i'm having a good tournament and hope to close it with a positive.

A real struggle in the high winds of round 2.I would have been happy with a level par round but couldnβt quite manage it,had to settle for a 2 over 73.Nevermind ,very enjoyable π

Final round and playing with Skunky and his Sweeping Hooks (incidentally the name of a tex-mex band from Lubbock I saw in the early 90s). I really struggled with all parts in my game on the front 9. No feel for anything, and this was the round with the nicest conditions and low scores expected. Back 9 and it felt better and had a lip out for birdie on 16th. That would have been a fine ending to great tournament hosted by @sirwade .

Final round was a bit shaky for me. Must be nerves. My target was to remain under par for the tournament but i started all over the place with wayward drives and other frusts. My score melted away with almost every hole!! I finally settled down and was able to work my way back. Played with Quade who was struggling on the greens and was also not to sure with the big stick. I know the feeling LOL. Anyway, my best finish and tournament result to date. And my first tournament under par too on this top level. My 87% DIF's and 61% GIR's in the final round got me where i wanted to be. So i'm happy. Again, a terrific set up, great course and very enjoyable allround!

Played as well as I have done in a while in round 3.Always nice to have a clean card, also chipped in twice which made up for a couple of shortish birdie putts missed,so can't complain.Cheers π»π»

We won't go into any Super League talk . Although the USGA and The R&A implemented some gameplay changes recently . Still quite a few left to tee off and get their rounds in this week. Not to mention some solid golf from our new USE members this week. Was about to see a sports performance shrink for my driver woes as of late. Yips, they're called yips Will lol. I hit some woeful ones but recovered. Along with some clutch ones when I needed them the most. The first tee took some huge cojones to even think about that one . wimigbg in the clubhouse with his score posted made it quite an intense final stretch of golf. Another fine course by @sirwade this week! Played Mauna Kea the other day and it was nice to go back to where we all started. Thanks for taking the time to recreate this track and add on the final touches to Port Royal Wade ππ₯π₯π₯β³

I finished the tournament in +5. My rounds 2 and 3 were so so. Both +1. In round 2 I started with triple bogey, bogey, bogey on the first 3 holes, but managed to play better in the rest of the round to end with +1. In round 3 I had the putting yips twice. I missed two easy putts from 3 ft by hitting the ball completely wrong. Mostly the reason is that I do not really commit to the putt. Also +1. In the last round I just played badly. I was not really into it and it showed. +5 for the round and also for the tournament. Lovely course again this week which I will certainly play some more in the future. On to California now.
