After enduring a long cold winter, the USE Tour is heading for some welcome warm weather. With sunny skies and white sandy beaches, El Camaleon Golf Course is sure to entertain. A yearly stop on the PGA tour, week 31 takes us to Mexico for the Mayakoba Golf Classic. EL CAMALEΓN GOLF COURSE The First PGA TOUR Golf Course in Latin America A Greg Norman-designed masterpiece, El CamaleΓ³n blends through the diverse ecosystems of Mayakoba, including tropical jungle, dense mangroves, freshwater canals and pristine Riviera Maya oceanfront. The Mayakoba Golf Classic at El CamaleΓ³n made history in 2007 when it became the first PGA TOUR event to ever be contested outside of the United States and Canada. Today, the Mayakoba Golf Classic is regarded as one of the finest on the PGA TOUR by professionals and spectators alike. The Mayakoba Golf Classic welcomes 132 professional golfers from around the world to Riviera Maya to participate in four rounds of stroke play competition. El Camaleon uses a different course routing for club players and the PGA Tour. I used the PGA course routing when designing El Camaleon. Pin locations for all 4 rounds are from the official PGA 2020 Mayakoba Classic. December 3-6 2020 Viktor Hovland takes the win at -20.The Par 3 15th hole Weather for the tournament

Round 1 and teeing off with davec187 . We played evenly with 2 things that separated us. I holed a lot of putts from 10 to 25 feet on the front 9, he pushed a shot at the wrong place (10th) and bounced into the water. My straight drives started to abandon me on the back 9 and soon the irons followed. The round could not end fast enough.

Just finished up at the Mayakoba Golf Classic. I enjoyed my stay in Mexico for the week. I'm in the club house drinking some Modelo Especial. R1 I had a decent round of play. I managed to stay even with Mike wimigbg for a change. R2 I lost some ground. I had 3 birdies on the round but a couple of bogeys dropped me to -1. R3 I got back in a grove. I hit the pin on a great approach shot on the par 5 #5 (I will post in shots of the week). It left me with a 2ft tap in Eagle. I finished R3 with a -5. R4 I got in a zone and tried to run down Viktor Hovland's winning score from last year with a -20. I came close but missed a birdie putt on #18 to come up one shot short. I finished at -8 for the round and -19 for the tournament. There are some low scores out there this week. I hope everyone enjoys their rounds. R1 R2 R3 R4 Standing over my Eagle putt on the par 5, 5th hole.

Played my first round with wimigbg and managed a half with -5, it wasn't a deserved half though as Mike was fluent throughout the front 9 whilst I only birdied the par 5 and he was making lovely birdies everywhere to be -6 to my -1 with 8 holes to go. I then miss hit and misread an eagle putt that luckily dropped and then fluked a 60 footer before birdieing the last with my one good shot for the day to tie Mike, if we were playing in real time I think I'd be scratched off his Christmas card list! Absolutely loved the course @sirwade, for some reason I hadn't played this as must have been released during one of my breaks from the game but You've done a super job and I thoroughly enjoyed my round

Thanks Paddy! π Cheers! πΊπΊπΊ And I like the course more for every time I play. πποΈββοΈ Thanks Mike! π Cheers! πΊπΊπΊ The course we are playing is the most up to date version. I watched the PGA event and recorded it. I went back and freshened some things up. I tried to get it as real as possible. I didn't have lidar data so I built it from scratch using photos and Google Earth Pro for elevations. Same as next week's Bermuda venue.

I played my first 2 rounds. I agree with the others. Great course to play @sirwade . I really love it. For some reason I hadn't played it before. But I am sure I will play this course more often in the future. I am also satisfied with my play. In the first round even par. Only on the second hole I had a really bad approach shot, which caused a double bogey. In the second round I had 3 birdies in a row. (not something that I am really familiar with;-). Two of which were long putts. All in all I am very satisfied with my play and my score of -3 after two rounds. Thanks Roger! And great shooting! πΊπΊπΊ

Round 2 and meeting paddyjk19 on the 1st tee. And that was the last I saw of him. Except a few drives here and there, this was a display of excellence in every department. And a few more putts/chips could very well have dropped. Look out, @sirwade in the clubhouse. Lately I have been reading the putts better and better. That did not happen today and even I had a descent amount of good birdie opportunities only 1 dropped. You are catching me, roggro .

The 4th round has docile conditions and there should be lots of movement on the leaderboard!

I think I was subjected to the Hovland curse as I couldn't get beyond -20 in the final round despite playing OK, again, really enjoyed the course this week

First Round in. Just glad to get off the tee and hit it anywhere close to the short stuff in this round. Led to some decent approach shots. Quite a bit of putts were on the edge or just a touch short. Able to make some key par saves for a clean scorecard.
