Back across the Irish Sea this week to the far NW corner of England,Cumbria.Silloth is not the longest of the links courses but is still challenging with the sea breezes.I have very fond memories of Silloth because it is the first links course I ever played as a kid in the mid 70’s whilst on family holidays.Enjoy 🏌️😎

I was first in the clubhouse on the PS4/PS5. I wanted to put a little pressure on the chasers lol. I will have a few 🍺🍺🍺 and wait for the others to finish up! Cheers! 😉  |

Not a particular fan of this course (the recreation is well done, but the course itself don't suit me very well) - and made a few costly mistakes in the first round, most notably hitting into the bushes on the left side on the 16th.  |

Scrambling round 2 in the wind. Hitting less fairways and greens, but managed to avoid the big mistakes.  |

Played R1 in +9 en R2 in +10 for a total of +19. My putting was terrible. Misread a lot of short putts and 3,4 and even 5 putted. As some English band once sang, “nobody said it was easy”. As in real life, it is all about the putting, so just practice and practice and on to the next tournament😉

Enjoying round 1 up the north west with andersnm . Very happy with the score, but I have to admit I had some lucky bounces in some places. Hit a drive into the bushes on the par 5 14th, took chance and tried to hit through it, only to hit someone in the head, or a branch, and the ball went backwards. Still managed to make a par. Had a medium long chip up the hill that fell in the side door like artvandelay leaving a bar after a hole in one. Must say Anders played better tee to green most of the round, but his putter was not in the best mood.  |

Love Silloth,proper old fashioned links.Accuracy is rewarded over length,if you have both you can take the course apart.If you have a hot putter you are going very low.Unfortunatley I had none of these 😂. Left myself a mountain to climb to chase down @sirwade,if I can actually hit a fairway you never know 😂
