Round 2 in these beautiful surroundings. Paired up with andersnm to see his putter glow and so it did. Always a good short game and now a hot putter, watch out! I had to do as yesterday, wait a while before posting. This course makes me mad. I played well and was -2 before hitting the rough from the 18th tee. Decided before the ball landed that a pitch short of the creek was the only option. But then it was only 175-ish yards to the pin and roughly 145 over the creek. Took 3 clubs extra to be on the safe side and STILL WENT INTO THE WATER! A triple later and I left fuming. I saw that round 3 will offer very high winds. How nice, haha! I better stick to +30 as a goal. You are playing Round 2 but the scorecard says you are playing pin set #1. You had a great round going Mike until the triple bogey on 18. hammers1man must have missed that one. I have no choice but to disqualify all PC players for this tournament! ππΊπΊπΊ Oh, didnβt notice that. But in the rules it says we can deduct 5 shots for errant pin placement. π

Hopefully it was only round 2.

Round 3. First I want to say that I have played hundreds and hundreds of golf rounds IRL. Link, sea side, park and woodland courses. Once have I come across winds like these and that was on a sea side course adjacent to the sea (doh!). Me and my father were the only ones on the course, it was unplayable. Just laughed us around the course. And that's how I see these conditions, I do not take them seriously as a avoid-high-blood-pressure strategy. Of course the score than was good until the last, but I laughed. Looking forward to the next round. I know where the pins are now, hehe. PS. Par on the 16th. DS.

Looks like PC is set on pin 1 all four rounds and that Paul forgot to change them when he set the tournament up.

Two way to look at round 1: Gee I played ok even with that triple Humph on 8, or that triple Humph on 8 ruined my round. I prefer the former.

I got my mistakes on different holes than wimigbg - but it was a grind.

Sorry about the brutal 3rd round conditions Mike. I used actual weather for Dublin, Ireland for the week. It predicted for our third day, winds would be 25mph. I just checked and the wind was actually 32 mph. There must have been a strong storm passing through. They also called for rain the final two days. I adjusted the greens and fairways for damp conditions. I'm never a fan of Very High settings for anything. It just makes it a bit too extreme. I noticed lately that we have been getting a lot of Very High, Very Fast, settings in our tournament so I went with the actual conditions. Here is the link from the weather I used. I just try to make it as realistic as possible. www.wunderground.com/history/daily/ie/dubber/EIDW/date/2021-2-23

I must be unlucky but I have played twice in winds much tougher than this, the Oxfordshire which was a European Tour course and Chesfield Downs both courses nowhere near the sea. The Oxfordshire was extremely difficult and the last time I carried a bag on a golf course, could feel it for a week after in my legs. Chesfield Downs was on a different level, up to 49 mph wind and a BBC weather warning. Thought it was going to be tough but had no idea how tough golf can be, way tougher than the very high winds in this game. The gusts nearly knocked you off your feet, I'll never forget we were all putting on the green and a gust of wind blew all 4 players golf trollies over. Hit a LW or SW into a headwind and you can see the ball coming back towards you. It is certainly a different experience

Fourth round - and it was again some silly mistakes and could not take advantage of the par 5's.

Round 2 was a back and forth affair until I found lightning in a chip on 16:

Round 2 and 3 in. Practiced on 144 speed greens prior to R2. Knocked it stiff on the first hole. Next 3 holes had no feel, zoomed it past and couldn't make the comebacker for par. Chip in eagle on the 5th righted the ship and momentum for the rest of the round. Round 3, not the best ball striking in the wind. But was able to score on the front with some solid wedges. Back nine played a touch on the conservative side (middle of the greens), couldn't get some putts to drop down the stretch.

Went -3, -6, -4, -2. Could never quite reel in @pakalolo77 after his awesome start. Really struggled to finesse the greens...sort of read the overall slope directions but could not nail how much it was going to move. Seems funny saying that after shooting -15 but had plenty of putts miss substantially. Pin on 4 was a bugger. Cheers
