Hello All
If any Members on here would like a bit more USE-style golf, then look up 'The Old Goats Golf Club - Master' society.
It is run by myself and from the start of the next event on Monday 1st February I am changing the rules to the same as we play on here(almost the same already but the green grids are going now!). I too always use 'real' courses.
All would be very welcome,

I see some familiar faces there. What’s making me hesitate are the 8 rounds of society golf a week I already have. And I can’t resist to try new courses, and play old favvos. But knowing myself, I’ll probably join next week.  |

I've just realised, is this because it's not on PS? I don't mind setting it up on PS if one of you don't mind posting courses and settings and scores and all that stuff... (Assuming I'm correct that you guys are not on PS...) |

You will then need to post your scores over there also. I am trying to transition the rules to USE, having a hard time convincing some players that no grid is the way to go! That is before I try and bring in our other rules i.e splash shot from bunkers only! |

I am sorry but this is a transition to this new format, and it will take time to get people on-side regarding these rules. Just out of interest how are you seeing 'splashing from fairways' if you haven't got the time to play? The players that don't like the rules will probably not bother playing in the society going forwards. I am taking a bit of a risk here because I could end up alienating the former members and if new players don't give it time and just not bother playing, it could all end up as a non-society. I will see how it all goes. |

I started playing but was regretting that I joined, it will be too many society rounds for me. And when I saw my ghost partner splash a couple of times from the fairway, that little was all I needed to decide to leave. I wouldn’t enjoy stress playing through the rounds if I had stayed. And I do see the risk with alienating the old players. I hope you can agree on something. I played TST before joining USE, but didn’t find the splashing “True Sim” and was so happy when I found USE. No biggie, enjoy the goats! Some of them I have as ghosts in non-competitive rounds, so I recognise quite a few names |

I now play TST in USE fashion,you’ve just got to put up with the aiming marker.Played Torrey & Scottsdale these past couple of weeks.Its good practice at least 👍

Hi All
Due to the poor uptake of this method of play, I have decided to experiment a little over the coming weeks with the set-up, so it won't be quite to USE style at the moment. I am finding existing Members are disliking the challenge, and I want to find a happy medium where players are happy and hopefully numbers will increase.
I am trying for the next couple of events to have all aids off except the green grid. I know you guys won't be interested in this, but just wanted you to know before anyone played and wondered what had happened.
