www.strokesaver.co.uk/royal-cinque-portsnew 3rd and 16th are not in this guide, but may help on the greens and off a few tees.... If you play this course with the wind against (in your face) on the 1st hole, you do realise how good a course it is,i feel its better than its more famous open venue close by.

Paired up with @sirwade for the first round in the beautiful early morning sunshine π.We both played some decent stuff & then there was a sting in the tail on 18.I was lucky enough to hole out with my 2nd shot whilst Wade 3 putted for bogey, suddenly a gap appeared.I am
sure Wade will come fighting back in round 2 ,he is in great form π

I enjoyed your company on the links! I seem to be good for a least one blow up hole per round, sometimes more lol. May I suggest that you drink Heavily on your final round. I need all the help I can get! πΊπΊπΊ

Everything on the score happened the first 9, everything on the course happened on the second 9. The back 9 was an endless drive into the heavy rough, chip/pitch/bunker-splash and one putt or long 2 putts. Except for one hole where I hit it to 18 feet! And just as I started my putt stroke, someone on the TV said "10" and I left it 7 feet short...

Scrappy front 9 but played really well on the back 9. Tricky course even with calm conditions, happy with the 3 birdie finish to rescue a poor round.

USE extra tournaments count also for shots of the week.

There's bad news and there's good news. The bad is the golf. It's not nice when you are about to hit and it feels like you can hit the ball wider than long, only through pull or push. Experimented with much shorter and more forgiving irons and wedges. Naturally I was driving pretty well, but couldn't hit an iron if so my life depended on it. The good news is that +1 for a month or two ago would have been very, very good and I guess I'm progressing. PS. It's good mental training to hit bad shots and the see @pakalolo77 hit every approach inside 10 feet. DS.

I struggled with swing plane on TGC 2019 a bit , I used to watch my backswing on the controller to make sure I was pulling the stick back straight. No tips for mouse I could never hit straight with a mouse.

Then comes periods when everything feels great. Itβs like walking a tightrope.

I continue to struggle - but I know what it is I struggle with. I get into some pulls at times, and that means missed fairway and greens. This course was also tricky on the greens - and my putting-form is not on top - but many putts very close so I know it is just a matter of too little practice play at the moment on the greens. The big problem is the pulls that I need to reduce to a minimum. Last round, front nine was very good tee to green, but I keep missing those 6-10 feet birdie putts. Think I will practice a bit more before I play this weeks USE rounds (but I also want to finish PGA Catalunya - so I guess I practice on some playtesting).
