Short game session before R2 seemed to help with tempo. Just one swing thought and was to just put a good pass through the ball. Led to more makeable putts and converted on them. Missed 3 birdie chances within 8 feet, one from 5 feet that I completely misread. It's been awhile though. Glad to finally put together a low one. Clean card is an extra bonus. -10 at the halfway mark.

Did not know you were playing this, would have released Royal liverpool 2023 open a few days earlier for you,New version with the new holes and layout knocks this version out the park i reckon.....sorry i missed the deadline.
PS i hate the waste bunker look on links courses but it seems to be a current trend,no idea why.

Another 75 in round 2. Played well enough to score a 72, but could not putt for 14 holes. Started with a 3-putt from 6 feet, then had countless 11-15 footers for birdie and I was happy to 2-putt these. Finally hit the pin with my approach at the 15th and a putt short enough for birdie. Then 2-putted from 75 feet for birdie on the 16th. It's a strange game... Now off to newly released Sunningdale-(Old) for a round and see if this rendition is good.

Round 2's card and another round -3 par. Consistent! Very enjoyable that.

2nd Round in at another E. Played ok on the front 9 and played poorly on the back 9. Had some decent putts, driver was off again. Fun course!

Finally got a good stretch of pixel golf in after a busy few weeks, tried a new putter out and on the whole I seem to have rid myself of the yips, thank goodness! Really enjoyed the test, really had to slow down, think, plan and execute on this course which is the opposite of my gunslinger approach! Played solid, kept a big number off my card and posted -17 for the week, certainly can’t complain! Great job with the course yeltzman, stunning as always

Had to get my rounds in today - so four rounds rapid. Played solid, but not great. +2 total.

Have a really bad habit of remembering what the green speeds are after the first hole. Didn't give the close par putt on the 2nd quite enough with those greens and went off line. Struck the ball really well on the front nine. Putter was dialed in especially from distance. On the back nine, swing got a little quick in those winds. Beauty of a chip in off an upslope with a 9i on the 10th. Followed by back to back chips in down the stretch for birdies. -16 heading into the Final Round.

Round 3 was about the same as the 2 previous, add 4 strokes for the wind off the Irish Sea. How @pakalolo77 can shoot 66 in that is beyond me, impressed again. It seems like I have stagnated a bit, and/or you all have gotten better. I'm calling Leadbetter (if he's alive) to do a Faldo, except I have not the same reasons or an already functioning swing.

Changed up the swing waggle to try and stop that flare right fade that seems to be my miss. Seemed to help in practice rounds prior to my Final Round. Front nine gave myself fairly decent chances that burned the edges. Some were above the hole and slider putts. Didn't force anything but knew I left some strokes on that front side. Swing and putter caught fire on the back but just wasn't able to save par on the 15th. After catching Paddy, the clubhouse leader, knew I had to at least try and go as low as I could. Made the eagle putt from 35 feet out on the par 5 16th after a partial 3 wood from the fairway. Then birdie-birdie to finish the round. Glad to finally put four rounds together for a USE event. Another fantastic course by yeltzman. Finished at -23.

Banged two out yesterday, that last two just now. Proud of myself not mailing it in after the frustrating opener and clawing my way back to level:

I had the pleasure to play my last round with this man. He was very nice, signed an autograph and let me take a picture of him. On the course, it seemed like only one of us at a time could make birdies. I took the front 9 and artvandelay took the back 9. Nice to have a decent round at Hoylake at last, even if the conditions was benign. Happy New Year!
