It is time for us to travel south again after some weeks in the north. We stay at Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort to play the Made in Denmark.
Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort is located southwest of Aalborg and the resort has 42 holes of golf. We played this tournament also in Season 2 - but some things have changed since last time. The courses has got new names: The Backtee course is now called the New Course. And the Garia course is now called the Old Course. The short pay and play course is now known has the Academy Course and has 6 holes. One could say that Himmerland has gone back and not created new names, because these where the names at the start. For the most part, we play the same routing as last season with the 18th on the Old Course as the starting hole which replaces the 8th on the New Course. Slightly different tees from last season, and we now will experience a short tee on the 16th - which is the signature hole on Himmerland New Course - Himmerland Hill - that made European Tour history as the shortest hole on the Tour in 2015 with only 79 yards.

Off and away for R1. Decent front nine to start. Back nine wasn't in the right spots on some holes which led to bogeys. Great par saves on 16 and 18. Under those conditions to be +1 after one. I'll take it. On to the next one....

Started off pretty well, considering the course. I am running with an entire new club set now (all Mizuno) after imploding with several other club sets and wanting to take a sledge hammer to my new controller. I was going into 18th hole with a -2!! But, naturally, landed my second shot in the water and finished the hole at double bogey. Played with Tuffguts who had some really nice approach shots, but struggled on the green. Round 1: E I am happy with that.

Not happy with my first round. Never got it going in the long game, and that meant scrambling on all holes. I had lousy 28% Fairways and 11% GIR. Even hit water on the "easy" 8th. @pakalolo77 - birdie on the 9th is fantastic - that could be 2 strokes on the field.

Yeah rubbish start with a +9 last night after a big day of xmas food and drinks.....my groaning belly may have held me back....nah I was just useless. Anyway on hollies now so thought I'd knock out my rounds today and went -6, -1 and +2 to finish +4. Quick greens in Rd4 messed up my chances of scraping under par. Good luck and merry xmas all.

A little better start this tournament. Some out of character par saves and some in character birdie putt misses on the back 9 and I was +1 standing on the 18th tee. Quite a daunting tee shot a head. I had not hit a drive to left or with fade all day long so confidence was high. You know what happened and seeing andersnm hit his only(?) fairway stung. Followed up with a hook that makes you come off the club with one hand. Confidence apparently still high as I hit 5I to 5 feet and drained the putt for a bogey and a 72. Strange times indeed..

A very good 77 if you see it like that.

I played the 4th round conditions on Legend swing difficulty - and got +9 after mediocre play (triple on the 16th). There is no wind, so it is not that hard - you just have to play smart on some holes - very important on the 16th which imo is the most difficult on that round. Tuffguts played worse in round 1 compared to round 4.

My rounds went like this, As you can see I did not play smart in R4 after getting back to even par in R3. R1 (+1) R2 (+5) R3 (-6) R4 (+6) T (+6)

Second round was a lot better - started out well, missed long on the 3rd which was not good, and put too much spin on the pitch on the 4th. Missed a short birdie putt on the 6th - and that carried with some bad putting on the next holes as well. Missed fairway again on the 8th - but three putt for bogey is just not good enough. Think I have so far lost 4 strokes to the field on the 8th. Decent back nine with few mistakes - though I felt I should have read the 16th green better for a birdie. Missed a 9 footer there.
