Not sure if anyone is watching the PGA Championship - but it is fun. 30 mph wind in the face on the first holes this day. I think Hovland has a chance for his first major - and that is incredible Looks like one of our USE tournaments in high winds and fast greens lol. I'm trying to find the most accurate Kiawah course so I can play along with them. It would be nice to see Viktor get his first major. Phil is in contention as well until he screws it up lol.

Unfortunately no good version of Kiawah in the game.

I played a course in North Wales called the Cardigan in 50 mile an hour a d shot 80, missed a 5 footer for 79 which is stil my biggest regret in life!

I think my biggest regret in golf is leaning over for a 2 foot tap in so not to stand on my opponents line, I missed because I hit too hard. It cost me a win and I lost on a countback. Now I see why pro's mark their balls even on short putts.

Since regaining my amateur status I’ve been playing the odd medal at my local club and every time I have a 2 footer and ask to finish, my playing partners always say “take your time”.... as soon as I hear this I have to mark my balk and retreat as it implies there’s a chance I might miss which means I couldn’t possibly proceed to finish just in case!

All I can say is I learned from that mistake big time, never again. Though at the time I had no idea that I was in contention for the win. We have a good turn out in our society, consistent 40 member turn out. Not hit a club since September but gonna hit the range tomorrow, have a lesson with my pro on Tuesday and my first tournament next Sat. Would like to have a few rounds before that though.

The reason I back out is because I e missed tiddlers when people say “take your time! Haha We’ve had such bad weather you’ve not missed much so far, I played my first event fir a year the other day, got cut from 5 to 2 under the world handicap system despite me playing very little in last five years! Was on 33 points on the last hole but hit my approach shot long left of the green and into the pro shop! Luckily only 50 people on the veranda saw it haha

This is what I like about what we have here that TGCTours will never have. Talking about golf, helping members that are struggling. We are a society first, competition comes second. We are all learning the new swing at the moment so hopefully members don't get too disheartening with a high score. Members scores will drop we all just need to practice and get used to the swing.

Completely agree! We are a group of die hards to want to play this way so I hope we will all stick at it through thick and thin. It takes a certain type of character!
