It's nice to see the history of these great courses! The Lady that cuts my hair is from Norfolk, England. We also have a Norfolk about 20 miles from here in Virginia. Heavy British influence a couple of hundred years ago. I live 5 miles from Yorktown and surrender field, (not trying to open any old wounds from the past). I just love history from around the world! Round 1 in the books. I had a clean card going until the 16th.

I was out playing another course when I suddenly realised my swing was under control. Let this count! Started round one and and birdied the first hole. Then it became the usual struggle but had several good birdie putts shaving the holes on the back nine. And paying for mistakes. Two halves of one over equals a 74. No disaster, but not a celebration either. The best is of course the course. Loved it before and still does, yeltzman . Oops, I linked to an image and then removed it. Very clever!

First time at Hunstanton as havenโt played it IRL yet and what a course! I loved it, great job yeltzman. LiDAR really does work great for links courses as you get every nuance and slope. Thoroughly enjoyed my hack round!

Word to the wise. Don't do a swing calibration and then go play a tournament round, Duh lol. I shot +10 in the second round to finish the tournament at +6. Oh well, Onward it is lol!

Played nicely in breezy conditions, the 2 bogeys both came from short siding myself, played a couple of nice recoveries to 15 ft but missed both par putts.Very realistic to real golf as that is a common way pros make bogeys.

Played 2nd round as a 3-ball because it looked like it could be interesting as myself & Wade held a 2 shot advantage over Paddy.Unfortunately Paddy gave us a bit of a lesson in putting together a score.Whilst Padddy seemed to make par or birdie from all sorts of positions myself & Wade struggled. I usually play my rounds solo & found my concentration wondering & also completely lost my tempo. However on the plus side it did give me time to admire the fantastic work of yeltzman.Hunstanton is a absolute masterpiece.Cheers ๐ป

I could not read the greens on the first round. Not sure if it was the lighting or what it was - but I constantly read the greens wrong. Tee to green was very good with few exceptions - but you don't score well when you three putt from 8 feet or closer on several holes.

The Linksland rounds have quite a different feel to our USE season. In a good way of course. I think ever since that final round at Sawgrass. I've been trying to find that "swing" again, instead of just playing golf. Sure would be nice if you could capture that in a bottle. As in real life, feel for certain shots come and go. Nailed the right tempo and distance on my pitch shot on the first and it went in for eagle. Both bogeys were from being in the wrong spots around the greens and couldn't get up and down. Chipped in for another eagle on 15. Still in those winds quite happy with the score even though it seems I'm playing from the rough lately off the tee. Ugh, that FIR % is not pretty to look at. On to the next round....

Found some good tempo with my swing. But a little iffy with my pitch shot distances. Couple of circles, couple squares and a duck hook OB drive on 17 led to a double. Still though, enjoyed my rounds here at Hunstanton ๐

Underrated Gem i would Say Hunstanton is,i had never heard of the course till i'll seen a Lidar version in TGC2019 of this course, Just felt it was so good a course needed a bit more time on in,its the same with royal Cromer same designer did it,i feel could be a fantastic course with a bit more time spent on it,But i understand Time is the biggest factor really overall when designing. A bit like sheringham as well from the same area really interesting courses.
