It feels like 2k21 144 greens are putting like 2019 greens that were somewhere between 163 and 187. The new putting mechanic changes back stroke speed per distance.I think it is a bit quicker on the longer putts than shorter putts. I am basically putting like I did on TGC2019 now, feels more fluid and less finicky with the putting stroke swing plane.

You can bring back the aim marker and the animation slows. So on long putts, it is faster and slow on short putts. The same backswing length though for distances.

Decided to post here instead of keeping the putting talk going in the current tournament thread. Just took a video of a longish putt, 37ft, uphill 1ft.
First putt is just pulling back to the end of the stick holder, second putt is pulling back slowly. Surely everyone can see second is going back slower?? Or am I just imagining it?

The second putt looked slower to me as well.

Yes you can make it go slower by not pulling the stick fully back but they have slowed the backswing down for pulling fully back especially on shorter putts. I pull the stick all the way back for every single putt now, my putting is faster but more fluid and most importantly I am keeping the putting face square on impact. It is more about the pace and line now for me than trying to hit the damn putt straight .

Ok, think I understand now.
To me, the advantage of having more time to judge distance is bigger than the disadvantage of non straight lines.
I can get the line straight(er) when I 100% focus on it.

The think is with me that slower back stroke was ruining any kind of rhythm to my putting, it was pulling back slowly and stabbing it forward and that feels unnatural. The method of pulling all the way back and firm forward feels so much better and took me about half hour on the putting green to get the feel for distance, I am holing a lot of putts from every distance now , including a 98 footer on the practice green. My longest on any TGC game

I noticed I’m getting a swing glitch now. It seemed to start last night playing Port Royal and Augusta. When I start to pull the putter/club back it goes back a couple of inches and the golfer stutters and then it snaps back to the original position. It really messes with me because every time I go to swing I don’t know if it’s going to do it or not. I’m going to reset my controller and see if that works. Has anyone had any issues like this? Seems like I read something like this before but I can't find it. Edit: I reset my controller and the issue is still there. I wish HB/2K would fix all the bugs with this game. It is really ruining the experience for me. I also noticed this happens during the practice swing mode for putting and full shot. Edit Edit: Problem Solved. I had switched to wireless play a few weeks ago. It had been doing fine. I switched back to wired and everything is fine now.
