Not to contradict my initial post here, but as many times that will prime my USE round with another tour I will jump straight in without even a practice swing.
Should I at least do some swings on the tee ala Josia? Probably, but I usually am in a time crunch.
When all is said and done this is just pixel golf, and just having the distraction from real life is enough for me no matter the score.
Onward!

I keep promising myself that I'll play a practice round in R1 conditions and take notes on tee shot aim points and green slopes and bumps. Then Sunday or Monday comes along and I don't get a chance to play. Tuesday usually doesn't work out, either. I can sometimes force some free time on Wednesday, but then I just dive into R1 cold because I don't know how much time I'll have the rest of the week to finish and I can't afford the luxury of a practice round. 6 birdies, 3 bogeys and a double to finish at -1 for the round. Is that this week's score? Doesn't matter. Pick any week and it's probably very close.

For me, I'm a ranger on the main tours - so I'll usually ranger a course before playing any events that count..
