Same here! I have you beat on a tiebreaker though, having bowled my 290 with what I didn’t know at the time was a broken sesamoid bone in my foot lol. Limped every approach and threw at least 5mph slower than normal, with a big assist from the beers of course to dull the pain. Never even came close to ever matching that game again, go figure. I was around a 185-190 avg bowler for years, could never get above that range but I was really just there to drink anyway. Ah, my best game is 278, though I have played over 750 on three Always a frame that ruins that 300.. 185-190 average is not bad at all. I think I was just a little over 200 average when I played active. My biggest struggle was short oil, much better with heavy oil. I was always a disaster with heavy oil lanes! I’m kinda the typical drinking bowler with a lower rev rate that just fires it up the outside hoping the ball does most of the work (for the price of what I paid for them, it really should lol). I could hook some, but just not enough with slick lanes. I’d have to slow my ball speed to the point it would really throw off my timing to where I’d usually just yank it.

Since I’m fairly new to this society I thought I’d start a thread for newbies to introduce themselves and to get to know people better. I’ll go first; Real name: Pat, Paddy, Patrick - take your pick! Country: England TGCT membership: Euro journeyman Course Designer: Yes Published Courses: Mill Ride, Stoke Park Favourite Courses on TGC: Fishers Island, Friars Head Golfer IRL?: Yes, spent 7 years as a PGA teaching professional with playing aspirations before chipping yips got me into debt, had a 3 year break from the game but play for fun these days once or twice a month when I can find time! Enjoying the game without the pressure! Interests / hobbies: Designing courses on here, learning guitar, walking my rescue dog, my patient other half, Oasis, beer! USE aspirations: create lots of good RCRs we can use and win and event one day! Real name: Jeff Country: USA TGCT membership: TST and CC-F, although I don't play at all in CC-F any more. TST is about to get the axe as well. Course designer: No friggin' way. Favorite courses on TGC: Any good RCR, but I like a well-done LiDAR best. Good fictional courses that could be real-life courses: Stag Point GC by Tauno Palo/Konsta Kokkonen; Greenstone River CC by b101; Copala Golf Club by Mikael Thunberg to name a few. Golfer IRL: Not yet. Gimme 3 years when I retire. Interests/hobbies: Music. More music. To listen to. Movies. More movies. To watch. Fixing computers and video editing/consulting. USE aspirations: Enjoy the heck out of each and every round. Get better at my short game and my putting. Stay ahead of ArtVandelay and SirWade59 at all costs. Keep Vandelay from getting re-elected as Mayor of F'ville. (Although doing that and staying ahead of him may be mutually exclusive. Sometimes you have to make the hard choices.)

Real name - Raymond, but only my mum calls me that, and only when I’m in trouble.
Age - Chronologically 46. Mentally 12, Physically 184
R/L Golfer - Yes, but not recently. Started at 16 when I had a knee reconstruction and couldn’t play footy (Aussie rules), got down to 7 playing with wooden woods and hitting balata’s. Didn’t play for 20 years then had a 2 year stint where I got back to 7 but never got lower. I can play 9 or so holes right now but haven’t in a while, I’m hoping to play more this year.
TGC history. Got to 80 odd in the rankings with only half a years play in TGC1, was getting top 10’s on Euro when it was equal with PGA. When TGC2 landed j was one of the first picked for the World Tour and was competing for wins without getting any. Got to 30 something I think before the grind got to me. I did have a PGA win. I’ve got multiple seconds across TST and the pro tours, but have dropped to CC-A. I even played the beginner club tour for a while looking for an even playing field.
USE aspirations - Kinda don’t have any. We all play the right way on good courses. I’m happy and content no matter what I shoot. I prefer shooting around even par, but like it even more when I do that and beat some folk lol.

Real name Paul Segrue Age 47 Real life golfer yes but my interest in golf came way before I actually picked up a club. My story is that video golf came way before the real thing. As a kid was way into video games from the spectrum to the C64,Amiga, Atari ST, it's leaderboard on the C64 that did it for me at the start. My godfather used to come over from Dublin and I was actually blown away from his excitement from playing a video game. he took me out to a pitch and putt course and that was the start of my love of the game. Went through all the video games but always wanted something that felt more sim, Larry created this and I believe this is as good as it has ever been for a controller, mouse sim golf game. I play in real life with an absolute fantastic society, I am the type of guy that you want to be paired up with just because I want everyone to do well who I play with. Played with a 28 handicapper who had only played 3 rounds recently and it just felt great to look at their swing and help them just play better from simple adjustments from my observations. I had a back injury a few years ago but stupidly played through it, tennis elbow in both arms after playing Celtic Manor ,Montgommary and the Roman Road course. Never had real consistency till last year when I picked up 3 really classy trophies , my real golf society is pretty special it consists of 90 percent Indians and about 4 of us white guys and I love playing golf and getting drunk with them, such a nice bunch of guys. Never really been committed to golf before but always loved it , I just don't play enough apart from last year but I just know I am a solid hitter of the ball and a really good putter and it paid off by playing about 18 times last year. Would of won our first tournament of the year if I just marked my putt and waited to putt out ,a huge lesson learned. 2nd tournament a 3rd and another really nice trophy. Couldn't keep it up but my commitment by playing before the start off the season really helped, we had a 26 v26 match Ryder Cup and I won my 4 points from my foursome, fourball and singles matches and my team won by 12 and a half points. USE aspirations, I've set the bar high as I've had a second and third but I am content just to beat Leon,Anders,Ray and Wade each week. Interests: Music Love live music especially Jazz funk, fusion soul, Herbie Hancock Marcus Miller, Jeff Lorber Fusion, Mike Stern. Just seen so many great Jazz artists> Also love certain rock and blues , could just as easily chill out to Stevie Ray Vaughan or Pink Floyd. I watch a lot of live music because the is nothing like that buzz for me Reading: Sci fi is my personal fave and I will have to say Peter F Hamilton really hits a note with me, just love that whole space opera gig

I watch a lot of live music because the is nothing like that buzz for me Reading: Sci fi is my personal fave and I will have to say Peter F Hamilton really hits a note with me, just love that whole space opera gig Reading your reply Paul makes me think I was a bit short My interest for golf started also with video golf games. I can't remember the name of the first golf game I got on a MSDOS 286 at the start of the 90's. Links386 was the first that got me hooked (92-93) and I started to play real golf a couple of years after this. Later I played Links 2003 and have actually made one fictional course with the APCD - and tried to recreate a couple of courses, but it was hard (the method of using pictures as textures and mapping them to fit the size in real life, using google earth to roughly measure elevations - no lidar data back then). Of the games from EA, only TW 08 was good for me, but that is a game I have played quite alot because it offers a very good solo career which was my prefered way of playing golf games. Later and earlier games from EA was too arcadish for me. Bought TGC and Perfect Golf as well, but these are very lacking in single player. TGC 2019 I got because of the prospect of a single player career again, but was disapointed - but then the game was saved by Chad's Tools for me - the first game I really could recreate courses to my satisfaction. Then an Italian friend from the HB forums got me pointed to TGCtours forum (I wonder if he will come back to the forums..). I play now on EGA hcp 11, though I should get below 10 once I get more consistent with the short game - my biggest weakness. My strength is the iron game, and I'm not a terrible putter, but chipping is inconsistent. As a playing friend said: I am either very good or very bad, nothing in between - and that can fluctuate during a round. So I end up with too many short game mistakes usualy and end up in 80-90 in score, so my big goal is to get more consistent in breaking 80 with solid short game. It could be interesting to see what equipment you and others play with; whats in the bag My bag is like this: I have now a Ping G400 driver 9 degree, which I will replace once I find a Titleist TS3 on sale. My 3 wood is an old Ping i15 15,5 degree. I play with stiff shafts for driver and 3 wood, extra stiff for all irons. I usualy carry ca. 265 yard with driver - though I carry ca 220 yard with my 3 iron Titleist T-MB 718, so I have a way to go to get the max out of my driver, so I would like to increase that 10-20 yards. I also have 4 iron in Titleist T-MB 716. 5-7 iron is Titleist CB 716, and 8-P is Titleist MB 716. Comboset with more forgiving as loft decreases. Wedges: 50, 54 and 58 degrees Titleist SM6 vokey. My putter is a Toulon Austin, and I play on Taylormade TP5 balls.

Doubt anyone wonders, but if you're trying to figure out what the heck my profile pic is... I learned 3 years ago to bowhunt. This particular pic is me 25 feet up in a tree during Spring bear season. My hubby is a former IT telecom guy, I was 20 years managing money for Fidelity. We moved off grid two years ago, so me hunting accounts for about 25% of our meat. Hubby doesn't hunt like I do, but he does the stuff I don't like to do.

I probably only carry my driver distance about 220 yards but managed a 278 yard drive with a tailwind last year . I am not probably quite a short hitter so never have a chance of longest drive in my society. I will just have to make do with nearest the pin My bag: Driver Taylor Made R1, bought it off someone in my society but realised it had a stiff shaft and was about 2 inches too short so bought new regular flex shaft and grip. I set it to 10.5 degrees and hit it well at that trajectory 3W,5W,3H Taylor Made RBZ stage 2 distance woods 4 iron to 55 degree SW Taylor Made R Bladez distance irons 60 degree lob wedge Mizuno Raw Haze MP T Series , had this club for a long time, about 15 years. Putter Odyssey White Ice 5, 340 g Srixon distance golf balls.

Got into all the consoles after that but really got into PC's in 2007.

I love the outdoors, fresh air, exercise and solitude. I am respectful of not only the laws, but of my non-hunting friends. I will never post pics or even talk about what I've harvested. On an aside, I took up bow hunting because I felt it levelled the playing field. It's way harder to use a bow, have to be more precise. And, strangely enough, I'm so against people who hunt exotic animals for trophies. I find that sad.

And, strangely enough, I'm so against people who hunt exotic animals for trophies. I find that sad. Count me as another "softie" but also someone who respects people like you. I do get annoyed by people who challenge me when they find out I'm vegetarian, asking all kinds of dumb questions and saying cavemen were carnivores (not true!) Because I NEVER preach or challenge people on their meat eating. Meat is delicious. I love animals and I don't want to eat them, it's as simple as that for me. Anyway, with my mini rant over, I don't find it strange at all that someone like you, who hunts and eats what they kill, would find trophy hunting repugnant. The relationship between human and animal in the two situations is totally different, and the animals in question have totally different places in the ecosystem. Not only is food hunting far better morally than trophy hunting, it's far better than the meat industry as well. I could go off on my thoughts about the meat industry and horror stories, but I'll save everyone from it and retreat at this point

Sounds like you do this more out of necessity than for sport, as another "softie" I respect that. The fact that you enjoy it and use a method that is more natural is admirable as well. Sounds like the two of you worked hard and are enjoying the fruits of your labor, congrats! But how you stumbled into pixel golf? Did you play this type of game BEFORE moving off the grid? I think you involvement is refreshing, just puzzling to me. Onward!
