colly , hammers1man , I got my first Albatross in career mode with master difficulty. I was so excited I ran up to get my ball as soon as it went in the hole lol. I was playing at the Waste Managment Open. My initial impressions of the game so far. I don't enjoy playing on master yet. I played 2 rounds in TST and I'm +12 after 2 rounds. I have been playing career mode as well. They must have changed the amount of VC you get in career mode. I only get a few hundred coins per tournament. I'm playing 1 round tournaments and on master difficulty. Short game and putting are excruciating, especially when playing on fast greens. The only way to be competitive on higher difficulties, will be to max out your golfer skills. The in game menus are cumbersome. There just seems to be a lot of unnecessary stuff. I think the plan was to baffle us with BS to make us feel like the price is worth it. And to make us feel like we got an upgrade. I bought the Callaway Mavrik clubs but the yardages aren't spaced out correctly. I thought they would get over that silliness when they introduced the Archetypes. The 5 wood is 219 yds and the 4 hybrid is 212 yds. I'm not into mixing and matching clubs. The golfer avatar doesn't seem smooth like 2k21 when swinging. If you step back and look at the big picture. It seems they designed the game for teenagers. I'm not going to put lipstick on a pig. I would like to hear other members honest opinions about the game. Mark was correct when he said the game was just right on 2K21 on master. .

I think you need to dig into it a little deeper @wade. The best thing they have put in the game are the fittings. Play through the career matches and you really start to earn some enhancements/degrading on each group of clubs in the bag. This really enables you to set up the bag, and with the archetypes, the golfer to your best advantage. I really don't care for the skill sets. I am using the default ball with just changes in appearance as I earn them, not interested in the one's you can use to change green speeds.

Mark was correct when he said the game was just right on 2K21 on master. . Nice shot Wade😁 Short game and putting is the best part of the game for me by a mile. Yes some of the faster greens are too fast and you can actually only put pins on any slope with slower greens. But unlike 2K21 117 greens actually play really well. The ball rollout is way more realistic than 2K21 on the greens I really love it. The long game when you get into the groove driving is too easy for my liking. Shots just outside the tempo window can be brutally punished for distance as well. Had to go back to my DS4 controller as with the DS5 I could just have a tempo collapse for some reason. Hitting nothing but perfect than all of a sudden all very fast, reminded my of playing with Xbox controllers. Ds4 much more consistent.. I play with greensman and have been holing some monsters even on 150 greens. I think 160 should be max and on 140 plus greens realistic pins need to be used. Designers need to be very savvy with pin placements in the game this time. My biggest gripe is it can be too easy to stick it close sometimes, but longer putts missed greens etc I love the challenge and this is way way better than what we had on 2K21. Pitch is a good shot in the game but from 30 yards up this time which feels pretty realistic to me. Chip is not a like a bump and run, you can hit high LW chips which I really like, there is actually a bit off a challenge from under 15 yards and chip ins feel great. Rough actually feels like heavy rough, a good lie produces good spin and poor lies produce more roll out and less control. I am gutted if I land in the rough now around the green. It is hard to get up and down and requires practice. Skill are annoying, how can we tell people to turn them off when they play with them in other societies. There is a VC fee to reset skills. Wade I was thinking we should set up our first exhibition tournament for this weekend. We can use one of your RCR's if you like👍 Also I like the new society to be called True Sim: USE Master Tour as it people can see straight away that it is a sim society.

This rendition in the series, when playing on Master/Legend, certainly starts to make you feel like you are playing golf for real. Course management really matters now. The short game and putting are really well done I think. You have options when missing the green, and I personally think the putting is great. You need feel for all of these areas of the game. Just as it should be!

You can set up multiple societies on PS if you want to have your own separate society for solo play. You just need to set up another PS account, very easy to do.

@wade. I pretty much agree with your assessment.I’m having a real love/hate relationship with the game so far.Playing career mode with USE settings & I’m yet to break par.Gameplay has totally flipped,it is now easier to hit a 300 yd drive down the middle than it is too play a short chip.My real life short game is better 😂

Paul, at the moment I'm really not sure I'm going to keep the game. Very frustrated with a lot of stuff. I can't even change clubs. I purchased a set of Callaways and they appear in my collection. Then I moved them to my golf bag. As I mentioned earlier the spacing in the yardages are wacky. I just played a few more career rounds and bought a different model of the Callaway hybrid. Hoping these have the yardages I need for my bag. BTW you can't even tell what yardages you are getting until after you purchase them. When I go to my golf bag to switch the hybrid out it asks if I want to change the club. I click on that and it pulls up a list of clubs in my collection, and the clubs I just purchased are not there. Only the initial 2k starter club set. How ridiculous is this? Like I mentioned before to much unnecessary menus.

Head, shaft and grips, different colours have better effect on stats. You get given these through playing the game. You actually get given a lot of them for playing career mode. It is a little full on but I can give you advice on what is good for timing etc. I have heard about cosmetic clubs not staying in your bag but I thinks someone mentioned a fix.

This is exactly the issue I'm having Paul. And I bought a different Callaway model hybrid and it isn't showing up at all. Also my callaway 4 iron isn't showing up in the set either. I'm sure 2k will get around to fixing it when they are done counting their profits. There is no such thing as first time quality (FTQ) anymore.

I'm still not seeing my other purchased Callaway hybrid clubs. They show up as owned but can't add them to my bag. Nor the missing 4 iron from the Callaway iron set I purchased with VC. It is just super frustrating for sure.

hammers1man , I set each club individually as you said and it worked. If you try to change the set then clubs disappear. This is a glitch 2K should fix. Also, I found my callaway 4 iron. It's just listed as a 4 iron in the club list. When I selected it the stock 2k 4 iron came up. Once I select the club, I then have to go back and change the appeareance. I guess I was in the 2k21 mindset of just changing clubs. So you don't buy clubs for distances. Distances come from the Archetype (I guess). So when you buy clubs of any brand you are just buying the appearance. Old dogs can't handle new tricks! So I will set up a society and call it True Sim: USE Master Tour (please confirm). Also, let me know everything to lock out (list all options). Also, how many rounds would you like to play for the exhibition to get a good sample? I will choose Port Royal GC - Bermuda since that is where the PGA will be playing next week.

I think we should just keep the same USE settings as in 2K21. Looking forward to playing your course on 2K23, maybe first tournament 4 rounds for next 7 days, gives time for people to join. go easy on the green speeds lol
