Thanks Paddyjk19,
I haven't played TST before but am looking to get into it. I didn't know if difficulty was under Master or Pro. That was an important thing for me as it switches the dynamic. Other then that I figured all the assistance features were off.

I’d guess Masters most likely, we played Masters last year although trialled pro as well, new game seems likely Masters though wouldn’t you say hammers1man?

Master plays well and is challenging, been getting much better at it personally every round but have been progressing my avatar build, started on Greensman which is actually a great archetype to choose.. The short game is tougher and seems a good fix for USE. My thoughts on settings though are early doors but it is pretty obvious. No skills or always active skills only. Common base balls only, there is plenty of spin even before you mess around with club fittings. Most definitely no vibration assist and unfortunately no way to police this setting,FFS HB how can you have swing meter but not vibration in difficulty settings. No follow cam, marker, grids, non turned based ghost balls etc.
We have a few Xbox players on board so we will be fully cross platform. I have a couple of ideas for new tour names if Mark wants to keep Linksland going True Sim: USE Master Tour True Sim: USE Linksland Tour. Another thought is 15 tournament series with 10 inland courses and 5 links courses, 2 majors 1 links 1 and 1 inland. 4 rounds. Just throwing up some ideas, all input is appreciated how we go forward.

Hello everyone! Really hope you're all doing well. Spent some time today reading TGCT forum and here to see what people are saying about the new game. Like what i'm hearing, mostly. (temporary skills and weird balls sounds crap.) defo tempted to get the game, would be fun to play in a society again, but not sure at this point. But couldn't drop in and not say hi Nice to hear from you Leon, will be great to have you back on board if you get the game. Maybe we can get some good team matchplay going again for season 6 😉

Just to check into, Skills ARENT allowed correct? I started the game before hand & have skills on but would need to take them off if need be for the Season. Just wanted to confirm though before I spend 500 to reset the skills.

I've been working on some courses to port from 2K21. I'm not sure if anything has been decided on skills just yet. Here is my take on it. First, I don't care for the skills stuff. However, if someone plans on playing other societies, then others will be using them I'm sure. If you have to pay to change skills that could be quite a pain. I would say let everyone use the skills. PGA players all have different skill sets IRL. Of course, if you play more then you get more skills to add. So players that don't play as much will be at a disadvantage. If there is a way to lock out skills in a society I would be all for it. We can see what other members have to say on this.

Tbh I have been building my skills up to get to the always active skills. I am 1 skill point off unlocking the last row which is where they are. Then I will pay the 500 VC to reset my skills points and spend them on always active skills which is no different than a club fitting stat increase. I don't like the triggered skills as that is arcadey.

From what I've seen it is a little confusing.

Word of warning, I did this and unfortunately you can’t have access to the last row of skills unless you’ve got a certain amount active in the preceding rows. It cost me 500 VC to find this out…. I think personally we just allow skills but ask folks not to use the arcade balls (not sure how we police that). The other point is use of shots out of bunkers, a lot of folk are using the chip shot currently from what I’ve seen. Where do we sit on that?

Wasted the 500 VC as I wanted the always active skills to find out you actually have to equip the earlier skills to get to them. I agree we can't really ban them as people will have them equipped. You can't just turn them off and in with ease. I don't have any problems with splash from bunkers at all as I have learned a slower tempo for all my shorter partial shots. Chipping out of bunkers is silly and should be always banned imo. We had the exact same thing on an earlier TGC game, chipping was easier so people used it. It is actually ironic that we are banning not using splash in this game 😅

hammers1man. I think we need to decide what shot can & can’t be used in bunkers.I’ve been using partial pitches from them, much more forgiving than splash or flop.

I think as we are going for realism we should just ban chip as it is unrealistic, flop and pitch is ok with me. Partial pitch sounds tricky for short bunker shots, partial flops are the trickiest shot in the game though I am getting so much better with them. I have pretty adjusted to the slower tempo for all my short shots now after a lot of practice on the chipping green, I very rarely hit outside of the grey tempo window with splash

hammers1man , colly paddyjk19 I'm trying to come up with a mission statement for the society to put on PS. So right now we have no chipping from bunkers and only the standard 2k ball is allowed? Let me know if there is anything else, thanks! True Sim: USE Master Tour experience is an ongoing online competition on PGA Tour 2K23 with the goal of simulating the real game of golf as close as possible. It is multiplatform for PC, PS4 and XBox. 1) No non turn based ghost and ball labels 2) Follow cam must be turned off manually by the member 3) No chipping out of bunkers 4) Swing vibration must be turned off. Only default 2k golf ball allowed. Shot feedback and pin marker turned off is highly recommended for the full sim experience but not mandatory.

Sounds good Wade should we post that in society message board? Maybe called the balls default. Just been practicing Port Royal, it looks absolutely fantastic on 2K23 with HDR on an OLED screen. I have gone back to DS5 wireless again as it's a great controller, the stick feels different but I am getting much better with. Regarding society background colours I have picked red for PC, PS is good as blue and I will aske longpole to set up green for Xbox. He is still in Turkey on holiday I think but he will set up Xbox society when he's back.
