After searching so long I ended up buying a TV as my new monitor. LG C2 42inch and wow does this game look amazing on this OLED. charles56 battered me round one with some sublime golf and superb putting. Interesting to watch how you can play different shots on USE in the short game and get good results, bump and run/pitch. Messy round from me, but a nice pitch in from 25 yards. Credit to Charles for this course pick this week. OLED is the way to go Paul. I've been playing on my LG 65" B6 for 5 years now. I waited for the 2017 models to come out then I bought the 2016 model. It saved me a lot of money. Charles had a great pick with Sunningdale 🔥 Also, charles56 has been playing some great golf lately! Yes OLED is great and all my mobile phones have been AMOLED screens for years. I was about worried about the size but 42 inch as a desktop monitor is fine for me. There is always a worry with burn in when using OLED's as a PC monitor so will have to be careful with it. My one problem is that it is quite reflective and the venetian blinds don't keep out enough light so I will have to put up a roller blind behind. The response rate is excellent, it has hdmi 2.1 so up 120hz and gsync works as well so great for PC gaming. Yes I'm very impressed with it Wade 😁 Would love a 65 inch OLED like yours in my lounge.

Hi guys! Yes, Sunningdale New Course was a pleasant surprise he? Old course has always been in my all time top-10 so when this one popped up i was running. My opening round 66 was a good one thanks to a hot putter and some scrambling. Had to give some back in the second round but all in all still happy. Always jealous of your pitching skills Paul. Playing with the mouse the 3/4 pitches and flops always gives me chills and i try to avoid them at all costs. My chipping saves me most of the time but sometimes there is no way around it LOL. I have practiced all kinds of shots but these pitches and flops are always a bugger for me. Anyway, enjoy the Society a lot and try to play them as much as i can!
PS: another super version of Cypress Point has popped up: 'Cypress Point ca. 93953' by Ddawg. Not only the best CP version i've seen but maybe one of the best designs in the entire game! Check it out. As a bonus it even has a ... 5th pin! Go Figure! Maybe hammers1man can put Cypress Point ca. 93953 on the schedule for this week! 😉🥂 Also Charles, I've heard that using a PS4 controller on the PC plays a lot better. Thx for the tip Wade. Yes, i know playing with controller gives a better real time swing, especially with the 1/2 or 3/4 swings, but all in all i enjoy the mouse more pure for the 'movement factor' of 'feeling' the swing. I realise i put myself a little bit in a disadvantage with the mouse to the controller, but i dont mind. Its not that i cant produce the 3/4-1/2 swings but they are just more tricky. But he, these shots are hard in real life too so no matter. As long as i can swing away with me-mouse i'll keep at it LOL!

Have you tried slowing the backswing down by moving the invisible marker back to you. You can have from 100% anywhere down to 60%, you can see this percentage if you change marker to percentage only.Though we play no marker it is invisible but you can still move it back to yourself for a slower backswing. The game automatically changes the intent(marker) for different shot scenarios.Notice sometimes on bunker shots you have a very slow backswing but you can speed it up manually. I think slowing the backswing down will help mouse users for partial pitch and flop as it is a tougher movement with a mouse. A good place to practice the partial pitch is on the chipping green. Remember when you slow the backswing down you need to compensate with a slower tempo. Partial pitching for me is all in the visuals of the avatar's backswing. I just have a memory of distances as I play the shot so often. I compensate by hitting harder when below the pin and in rough.

I just have a memory of distances as I play the shot so often. I compensate by hitting harder when below the pin and in rough. Thx for tips. Yes, all you write i do! My standard swing is a slow back swing - teeny-weeny pauze at the top - faster down swing. My reference point starting the swing is putting my cursor about half-way the club shaft and then moving slowly down when clicking to start swing (i play with the standard low cam behind the player). So its a pretty short back swing with the mouse. I know some players use the Avatar as visual reference but i do that only with the 'partials' (and putting). For full swings i just focus on my cursor speed really.
The bunker/splash shot has indeed sometimes a standard slow back swing built-in when having very short splash shots but i reset that almost always (by switching clubs) so i get the standard back swing speed. I have no big problems with 3/4 or even 1/2 back swings from bunkers although they remain tricky.
Its really only the 3/4 and 1/2 pitches and flops that are tricky, mainly because the game is set with a faster backswing once you click to start the swing. Its not 100% RTS like with the controller and thats were its just a little harder for the mouser. I dont really mind, i've grown used to it by now. I play a lot live multiplayer with a friend who uses a controller and i can see the difference when he is setting up to swing, especially short shots like chips and pitches etc. I can see the one-on-one respons when he takes it back (and forth) like a waggle before hitting the ball and thats 100% RTS . I have to gauge the length of my back swing by clicking (and resetting) the mouse untill i'm comfortable with the shot.
For chipping i use a longer mouse movement in the back swing so as to have maximum power and use a specific club according to the distance i have to the flag. I know these distances (carry/roll) pretty much by heart. The rest is greenspeeds, firmness, elevations etc which has to be figured out for every shot.
I have put in a lot of practice in the past on the practice facility for all these 'special shots' etc and now its all second nature really. But all in all, the faster back swing when clicking to unlock the backswing motion is a specific difficulty playing with the mouse in HB/2K. I live with it.

I was considering USE having marker set to percentage as it gives us a little more leeway to adjust the backswing speed to our liking for scrambling shots. When set to 100% it is very fast for shorter pitch shots, set at 60% it is too slow and off putting. Have a go on the chipping green turn marker to percentage and try practicing some partial pitch shot by pulling back the percentage to 80% or even closer to 70% if that's too fast. 80% is the perfect backswing speed for partial pitch for me. I don't really change it anymore but have been caught out by that 100% backswing speed a few times. This is the game's intent system with the marker. The idea is it slows backswing down for different shots depending on where you put the marker. It tends to do it automatically but we can't see it because marker is off. I really wish we could set the percentage (backswing speed) for all our pitch and flop shots and not have it change every shot. Yes you can set to 100% by changing club and then back to putter. 80% is a really good backswing speed for partial shots around the green.

Paul, I meant to ask you what mode your TV is in. Do you have it in PC mode, Game mode or Expert Dark Mode. I have been running my PS5 with the OLED in Expert Dark Mode. I've read that this gives the most accurate colors. And it has a lot of the processes turned off so the game lag is lower. I was using game mode but the colors are just too vibrant and unrealistic for me. I may go back to game mode and just try to find a good set of video settings online. I also wondered if I switched to PC mode would that work better on PS5. It's just too confusing lol.

You should definitely have game mode or game optimiser on Wade as the post processing of your TV will cause bad input lag. Your software in your TV might be different but this is an excellent guide to setting up your TV for SDR and HDR gaming, It will help you with setting up very good colour temp etc. Doesn't matter that this is for PC as gaming on PC or console will be the same.
