For week 2, we play the CJ Cup at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.
Shadow Creek was designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1989. First as a private club, and later for MGM hotel guests. The 500 dollar green fee makes it one of the most expensive courses to be played.
The week starts with rain and soft conditons - but it will dry up to the weekend.

I'm still trying to figureout this scoring tracking system. When I finished my round I checked the leaderboard and it said no results. I shot a -2 (70). I couldn't putt at all. So do I go to the leaderboard and input my score for R1?

Probably should have been more vocal but this version of SC isn't that close to the real life version they play on tour, for future reference this is the best version;  It's also a lidar version but is so much closer to the right environment than the one we are using, unfortunately the one we have for the event is a long way off the real course, it's not even right theme as SC is a desert course, well at least the on tour is outside vegas. Might be worth using this one next season |

Might be worth using this one next season Seems you are right, as far as environment goes with the desert backdrop which this course is famous for. and it looks like better colors and planting. I was not aware of another lidar version of this course, and the one we are playing is not bad at all so I do not feel so bad about this at all. Is there anyway to restart the event? Just feel we are playing a pale imitation of the real thing when there's a much better version out there |

So the reasoning for the schedule was that it was a good enough version of Shadow Creek to play this awesome course - but I would ofcourse have used the better looking course if I was aware of it. Would I have made this course like this? Not likely. Wrong theme, and pretty off on the forests. Is it worth playing? Yeah - but ofcourse a better recreation is to be prefered. I know you have very high standards on looks of courses Patrick - and when I do my own recreations I want it to be as close to real life as I can make it. But a recreation can be decent even if the looks are off - and in many cases the backdrop will be wrong. For example on Lofoten Links - the majestic mountain backdrop is impossible to get. |

I know where you are coming from but it would be a disservice to your own ability to compare this version of SC to Lofoten, for me Lofoten is really well done (not played but am well are of the course), this version of SC is just not very good, if you played it blind you might not realise it’s SC at all, it’s poor. I think the environment is as important as the slopes, it has to feel like you’re playing THE course and this does not IMO |

By the way, this is an amzing round @andersmn great playing - I look forward to you doing even better on the real thing next week ;-) Thanks - pretty sure I don't get an eagle on the 11th, but you never know  Need to take advantage of the first two rounds with soft conditions - well, need to change a bit on last round conditions on the other version as the default green speed are 179 and 142 on the two versions. Can't have default 142 green speed last round  |
