Royal Lytham is a course I have been lucky enough to play twice & also walk around many times over the years whilst spectating at the annual Lytham Trophy so I always enjoy playing it in game.It really enhances the enjoyment when you know a course from real life experience. It didn’t help much though 😁

Guys, thanks for all the Get Well Wishes. I'm back home and the surgery was a success, except for the pain I am expereinceing in my thigh. If anyone may need to have a hip replacement in the near future. Here is a quick timeline.
The slang term for the procedure is called a "Jiffy Hip" The general medical term for a Jiffy hip is the anterior approach total hip arthroplasty. This technique allows surgeons to perform the hip replacement without cutting any muscles which often results in decreased pain and increased mobility earlier after the procedure than traditional hip replacement techniques.
Arrived at the hospital Yesterday 6:30am for check and pre-op.
They wheeled me back for surgery at 7:30am.
Doctor said surgery would take approx 1 hour and 15 minutes. It actually took 1:20 minutes.
When I came out of recovery, the nurses had me up and walking with a walker. I also had to go up a set of prefab stairs and back down using the hand rails. At approximately at 10:00 am they called my wife in the waiting room, and the nurses wheeled me down to the lobby. I got home about 11am the same morning.
I am on some heavy pain meds so I have to be careful not to get addicted. I am still quite groggy from everything 😜

I came home the same day Anders, (about 2 hours after the surgery) the doctor told me it depends on the patient and if there were any complications during the surgery. He said some patients may have to stay in the hospital 2-3 days, as you said.

He said some patients may have to stay in the hospital 2-3 days, as you said. That is very fast. We do have patients leave after 2 hours, but that is small surgery (many also sleep a while after anesthesia, and that varies quite a bit). Normaly you would still be on post-surgery at that time here ready for the first walk. They use spinal anesthesia here on all hip surgery, unless there is a reason not to. I know they try to use less amount to reduce the time it takes, since we have patients 3-5 hours and still too numb to be mobilized. The thing with spinal anesthesia, is that it is important that it last long enough for the surgery, so many tend to ere on the long side rather than the short.

The anethisiologist offered me the spinal tap and I told him I prefered the anesthsia. I did feel rushed out of there but they assured me based on m surgery and my condtinon I wsa able to leave, after I completed the stair exercise. The jiffy hip is supposed to be the new, least evasive surgery.
