Round 1 at Austin Country Club. I traded in my purple Bridgestones for a set of purple Callaways. Greens were tricky to read. I managed to grind out a clean card and finish the round at (-5)

Horrendous start to R2 with 3 bogeys in a row. Finally righted the ship with a chip in for Eagle on the par 5 16th. Finished R2 at (-3) and (-8) at the halfway mark.

R3 was steady. I finished the round at (-4). After 3 rounds I'm at (-12).
R4 I kept it under par. Greens were hard to read in the twilight. I finished R4 at (-2) and (-14) for the tournament.

First round +2 - can't say that I am pleased at all. Almost hole in one on the 17th - perhaps hammers1man can take a grab of that replay since I forgot it. And then I missed the 4 foot for birdie on the same hole, which was a bit of a representation of the round for me.

Made the mistake of attacking the pin on the 17th,cost me a double.Other than that, reasonably happy with round 1.

Second round +4 - stone cold putter, but overall good play.

A couple of contrasting -4's to start. First round was relatively solid but second round was a bit off and had to nail a few long, curling putts to keep things in the red. -9 in Rd3, everything went right. Can't remember any "in-between" iron approach shots. Hit a few nice short pitches as well which I'm starting to get the hang of. Up and down last round of -2. -19 total and steadily getting back to my old form. Cheers and good luck all.

Third round -3 could have been awesome. Mid range putting aweful - 16% - and that is the story of that round. Tee to green was just very good.

Fourth round has already been forgotten - and best left buried deep.

Very rare for me but I am going to retire from this week's tournament. Not happening today all over the place as am tired and have my 2nd tournament in my real society on Saturday so need to hit the range tomorrow.
