First round was one of those very poor rounds where everything is wrong. Can't hit straight, and can't putt.

Typical to start out poor, and then the poor play just sticks. Missing 3 feet putts etc. Anyway, I needed a little bit of break before I play the last round later today.

Round 1 finished at Lofoten Links. Another great course by andersnm. I saw paddyjk19 teeing off just in front of me. I think he stopped at the clubhouse after the turn for some ales. A lot of holes on this course can derail a good round.

It certainly helps to hit the ball straight (though I still was bad with the putter this round):

R2 in at Lofoten. Another tough anxious round with wind and fast greens. A great approach on #8 left me about 3ft away for eagle. And I actually made the putt lol. Finished up at -2 for the tournament. It was a hard earned -2 for sure.

My first round at Lofoten Links. Bogey on the last left a sour taste but all-in-all a good effort.

Lofoten is beautiful but it does not suit my Bryson / Mickelson style, it requires careful analysis of aiming lines, a bit of patience and some course management. I got round in -1 in rd 1 barely and round two is well over par before I paused and decided to come back tomorrow with a better vision! As always, a lovely course andersnm

Is the hit for distance the best approach in this game on shorter courses. Why hit a 60 yard pitch when a 90 yard full wedge has more control and spin. Seriously thinking of having a good short gap between my wedges and short irons and taking the hit on the longer irons, especially for short courses. The 117 to 140 gap is frustrating.

I tried my best to play smart & leave good yardages in for approach shots but youβve also got to execute well which I struggled with at times.Still fairly pleased with an opening round of 69 in breezy conditions.Lofoten may be short but it is certainly no pushover.

Played some warm up holes on the member's Brookline and started to push everything 20-30 yards to the right. Took some time at the range and started to hit fairly were I want it. Started at Lofoten and now I could hit it 30 yards to the left or push it 30 yards to the right. How exciting!I thought I was smoked after 9, but when I came to the clubhouse I discovered I was not the only one. I took down andersnm on the course with some trash talk, old and mean stories about how Norwegians are stupid. (They have the same stories about us Swedes, but I had put cheese in my ears)

Swing tempo has been fairly good since no designing past few days (That will change soon though ). It's been an entire week along with Losby GK, of hitting into a hazard in each of these rounds. Then you start to press and go for those 11 yard and in chip shots then don't make the comebackers. That technique worked on 16 and 17 in the 2nd round though. Enjoyed another week at the Linksland π
